2023 - Transatlantic Cruise

Sky Princess Europe - Transatlantic Cruise October 28, 2023 - Departed Kansas City on United to London Heathrow via Chicago.  Twelve hours and we are sleepy on arrival at Heathrow at 6:40 a.m.  United gave us a nice dinner and then awakened us at 1:30 a.m. for breakfast.  At least we weren't hungry. October 29, 2023 - From London Heathrow to Pier/ Southampton was a 2 hour scenic bus ride. Southampton is famous for being a "liner port". The Titanic embarked from here in 1912 (700 Southampton residents in her crew). Smooth boarding onto Sky Princess via green lane. We did need to stop for our Medallions as they did not arrive by mail. Sailing was at 4:00 p.m. Went to the usual spots - pizza bar and International Cafe. October 30, 2023 - At Sea. The Captain and crew are busy assuring our safety.         October 31, 2023 - Vigo, Spain. Industry meets culture in coastal Vigo, home to a massive fishing port plus ancient Roman ruins, neoclassical churche...

2023 - Panama Canal Cruise

                                                 Our ship for the journey is the Ruby Princess   2023 - Panama Canal Cruise April 13, 2023 - Leaving MCI with flight to Houston, Texas.  We left a day early to make sure about connections.  Stayed in Houston at the Hampton Inn. Came a bit early to the airport as was the first time for us to fly out of the new MCI Airport.  Checked our bags and then went for a coffee break.  The first kiosk was bad...  After a bit of a walk we found this one that was good. There it is our United Airlines plane.  Left at 11:20 a.m. to arrive at 1:29 p.m.  Nice smooth ride. April 14, 2023 - To Galveston and to the ship The trip to Galveston was via bus.  It was about and hour ride.
